Antigua and Barbuda continues to expand its circle of friends within the
international community.
The latest step in this direction comes when Foreign Affairs Minister, E.P Chet
Greene, held discussions with his Maltese counterpart, Ian Borg, at the margins of
the World Trade Organisation meeting in Dubai.
During the discussions both Minister Greene and Minister Borg signed a
Memorandum of Understanding on water cooperation. “Our shared challenges as
small island states paved the way for collaboration on climate change and fostering
a deeper understanding of vulnerabilities,” the Maltese minister proclaimed in a
social media post.
Minister Borg said he is enthusiastic about the MOU and he now awaits the next
step in the relationship.
“We also endorsed Antigua and Barbuda’s aspiration for increased cooperation
with the European Union. As we eagerly await the SIDS conference in May. Malta
fully supports Antigua and Barbuda’s leadership in this field. I look forward to
welcoming Minister Greene in Malta very soon,” he added.
