Making climate finance work is a key focus at #SIDS4.

CANARI, the Caribbean Climate Justice Alliance, Antigua Barbuda Department of
Environment and United Nations Human Rights kicked off the discussion at
Monday’s side event on how to scale up finance and partnerships for just and
inclusive outcomes for the #Caribbean.

Hon. Sir Molwyn Joseph, Minister of Health, Wellness and Environment, Antigua
and Barbuda highlighted the need for a ‘whole of society’ approach and reforming
the global financial architecture to truly meet the needs of #SIDS and to ensure
they have improved access and receive the funds at the scale to address the climate
crisis.

These priorities were echoed by the high level panel including Racquel Moses,
Caribbean Climate-Smart Accelerator, Dr Mark Bynoe, Caribbean Community
Climate Change Centre, Lilia Burunciuc, World Bank and Ayesha Constable,
GirlsCARE and Young People for Action on Climate Change.

Dr. Ainka Granderson, CANARI, also highlighted a pledging platform that was
launched at #SIDS4 to action the Caribbean Climate Justice and Resilience Agenda
developed by the Caribbean Climate Justice Alliance and stressed the importance
of strategic partnerships and getting finance to those on the frontlines for real
impact on the ground.
