Wednesday 5th December, 2018-Regional Airline LIAT says it will resume its morning and evening services to the British Virgin Islands following the suspension of flights after the devastation caused by Hurricane Irma in 2017.

In a press release, LIAT said it will begin its evening service into the Terrence B. Lettsome Airport at Beef Island on December 6 with its first morning service departing on December 7.

This, it says, will allow for easy connections within the LIAT network as well as to international carriers.

LIAT has been working to restore services to hurricane-affected territories as facilities have allowed and a demand for travel has returned.

Chief Commercial Officer, Audra Walker expressed the airline’s satisfaction in restarting these flights. “LIAT remains committed to connecting the region and we are happy now to be resuming these services to connect passengers into and out of the BVI”.

She noted there were logistical challenges in restoring these services following the devastating hurricanes and LIAT is now working to ensure passengers were able to have flight options that facilitated their schedules and easy connections.

Walker also thanked the local authorities in the British Virgin Island for working with the airline to ensure the smooth reintroduction of these flights.

Beginning December 6, LI 512 departs Antigua (ANU) at 8 p.m. and arrives St. Kitts (SKB) at 8:30 p.m. then departs for Beef Island Tortola (EIS) at 8:55 p.m. arriving at 9:45 p.m.

From December 7, LI 521 departs Beef Island, Tortola (EIS) at 7:05 a.m. and arrives at St. Kitts (SKB) at 8:05 a.m. then departs at 8:30 a.m., arriving at Antigua (ANU) at 9:00 a.m.

The flights are open for sale via the LIAT website, the Reservations Call Centre and travel agencies.

With the resumption of these flights, LIAT will now have two daily services into and out of the BVI.
