Justice Minister to Receive Keys for New CID Space
Monday 1st April, 2019-The keys to the new location for the Criminal Investigations Department will be handed over on Tuesday to Attorney General and Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs the Hon. Steadroy Benjamin.
The new location will be opposite the St. John’s Police Station on Newgate Street.
The space on the compound of the police station where the department is currently housed has become inadequate, especially for the storing of evidence is.
For some time, work was carried out on the building identified as the new quarters for the CID and now it is ready to be handed over.
It is unclear when the move will be complete and when operations will begin from there.
Also on Tuesday, there will be a tour of the new sporting complex at Knuckle Block in Grays Farm, the temporary location for the St. John’s Magistrates’ Court.
The delegation from the Ministry headed by Permanent Secretary Mr. Clarence E. Pilgrim will also tour the Antigua State College and YMCA.
