Parliamentary Representative for St. Mary’s North, Sir Molwyn Joseph donated a
total of $4000 to the top performers within the last four years of the Jennings
Primary School. The money is to assist them in their preparations for secondary
school.
The presentation was made on Tuesday at the school’s graduation ceremony, held
at the Cedar Hall Moravian Church.
It has been a staple for Sir Molwyn to donate $1000 to the top-performing student
for the academic school year, however, COVID-19 prevented him from doing so
between 2019 and 2022.
He, therefore, presented the top performers of the institution for the school years
2019-2020, 2020-2021, 2021-2022, and 2022-2023 with cheques of $1000 each.
In addition, the Parliamentary Representative promised an increase in the amount
from $1000 to $1500 for the next academic school year.
During his remarks, Sir Molwyn reflected on his journey noting that he was not
born into riches, but that at an early age, he was determined to make a success of
his life’s journey.
He shared that today, he is the Minister of Health because of the decisions he made
in his formative years and the discipline he practiced that was necessary to achieve
his success.
