Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Karen Johannsen of Paradise View, who succumbed to injuries sustained in an incident at Dickenson Bay.
Reports indicate that around 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2025, officers responded to a report of a wounding at Dickenson Bay, where Johannsen was allegedly struck on the back of the head with a blunt object by an unknown male.
Police have since been informed that Johannsen was pronounced dead at 10:17 p.m. on December 26, 2025, by a medical doctor at the University of Wisconsin Hospital, where she had been receiving treatment.
A male suspect is currently in police custody and assisting investigators. Police have indicated that inquiries remain ongoing as they continue to gather evidence and determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
