Ian Joseph, who has been attending a festival held annually in Germany that celebrates African history and culture, is on his way to German to attend the 25th International Afrika Festival Tubingen as an honorary guest.

Joseph who has delivered several lectures on the history of the Bethesda community and its historic role in providing education for formerly enslaved people following emancipation.

“This landmark event will celebrate 25 years of uniting African communities, friends of Africa, investors and development partners under the theme, ‘Africa’s Future: Connecting the Diaspora, Investment and Sustainable Development’.

“As an esteemed representative of your country, your presence and insights will be invaluable in promoting investments, tourism, cultural exchange and economic opportunities between your nation and the African diaspora in Germany and Europe. This platform will also facilitate direct engagements with potential investors and development partners keen on fostering Africa’s sustainable growth,” the invitation letter stated.

The festival will feature a cultural forum, Africa marketplace, tourism and cultural exhibitions as well as networking sessions.

The festival runs from June 5 to 8.
