Heritage Quay Operations Not Affected by Protest
Thursday 28th February, 2019-Today’s protest outside Heritage Quay had no effect on what was a busy day for cruise tourism.
Three ships called at Port St. John’s and despite the chanting and shouts of disapproval from UPP supporters against the Global Ports agreement, Antigua Pier Group’s Managing Director, Saiid Greene, says there were no reports of disruption to the daily operations inside Heritage Quay.
Mr. Greene was asked whether today’s protest will cause harm to the cruise industry.
The Antigua Pier Group’s managing director believes the Global Ports takeover will be beneficial for Antigua and Barbuda, adding that in time, many Antiguans and Barbudans will agree it was the right decision.
