The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the suspicious death of 19-year-old Joyleen Abraham, a national of Guyana.

Reports indicate that sometime shortly after 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, the deceased allegedly jumped from a motor vehicle driven by 24-year-old Victor Ince of Lightfoot West. The incident occurred along a by-road leading from New Winthorpes to the Jabberwock Main Road.

Police responded to the scene and found the body of the deceased lying motionless on the southern side of the roadway with multiple injuries. A medical doctor later pronounced her dead at approximately 6:30 p.m.

The driver of the vehicle is currently in police custody assisting with ongoing investigations. The vehicle involved has been seized and transported to Police Headquarters for further forensic examination.

The Police Administration is appealing to members of the public who may have witnessed the incident or have any relevant information to come forward. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Coolidge Police Station at 462-3185, the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913/14, or anonymously call Crimestoppers at 800-TIPS (8477).

Meanwhile, the police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating 13-year-old Kira Bright, who has been reported missing from her home.

Kira reportedly left her parents’ residence without consent on Thursday, May 2, 2025, and has not returned since. The young teen is known to have a history of leaving home without permission and was reportedly seen at several different locations since her disappearance.

The police have launched a search operation in an effort to locate her and ensure her safety.

The Police Administration is appealing directly to Kira to return home without delay.

The public is further reminded that it is a criminal offence to harbor a minor or assist them in eluding authorities.

Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is asked to contact the Grays Farm Police Station at 462-0481 or the Criminal Investigations Department at 462
