Jari Jackson, 33 of Grays Farm who was arrested and charged by the police for
having an illegal firearm and ammunition in his possession has been sentenced to
prison.
The accused appeared before the court on Tuesday, charged with possession of a
9mm pistol and possession of five matching rounds of ammunition. He pleaded
guilty to both charges and was sentenced to five months at His Majesty's Prison on
the charge of possession of a firearm.
He was further fined an additional $3000 for possession of ammunition, which he
has to pay $1000 by Friday of this week. The remaining balance is to be paid on
the second Friday of each consecutive month or in default serve three months in
prison.
Jackson was found in possession of the illegal weapon during a police force stop
and search exercise on Sunday, 5th November.
