Governor General Swears in Latest Notary Public in Antigua and Barbuda

Nicole Dannielle Martin is the newest Notary Public for the State of Antigua and Barbuda. She was formally sworn into office on Friday by Governor General Sir Rodney Williams during a ceremony held at Government House.

Martin’s appointment was made by Acting Chief Justice, His Lordship Mario Michel, in accordance with Section 2(1) of the Notaries Public Act, Cap 295 of the revised laws of Antigua and Barbuda (1992). Following the issuance of her instrument by the Chief Justice, the Governor General administered the oath, formally empowering her to execute the duties of a Notary Public.

At the swearing-in ceremony, Sir Rodney congratulated Martin and emphasized the significance of her new role. As a Notary Public, she will be responsible for certifying documents, administering oaths, and serving as an impartial witness in legal transactions, thereby reinforcing trust and credibility within the legal system.

Martin expressed gratitude for the appointment and pledged to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in carrying out her notarial duties.

The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, family, and friends, including, Permanent Secretary, Office of the Governor General, Paula Frederick-Hunte (extreme left in the official photograph), Nicole Martin, newly sworn Notary Public (third from left), Governor General Sir Rodney Williams, (fourth from left) and other well-wishers who gathered to celebrate this significant milestone.
