Governor General keeps in touch with students
Governor General, Sir Rodney Williams, is staying in touch with young people as Antigua and Barbuda continues to deal with the effects of the pandemic. Government House announced that Sir Rodney convened an online meeting with children who attend the Christian Union Junior Academy during a Social Studies study period. “The interactive experience enabled the children to learn about the constitutional, legislative, social cohesion and ceremonial roles of the Governor General in Antigua and Barbuda. The thirty-seven students and teachers also had the opportunity to field questions to His Excellency,” said a statement from Government House. At the end of the session, the students and teachers expressed gratitude to Governor General Williams for making their Social Studies experience more meaningful. Sir Rodney is currently undertaking the historical restoration of Government House and a health and wellness campaign involving Government House staff and the Antiguan and Barbudan public.
