Government’s Spending on Accommodating Barbudans Untenable
Tuesday 1st May, 2018 –Information and Telecommunications Minister Melford Nicholas has declared that the state of affairs that currently exist where the government is continuing to foot the bill for Barbudans to remain in Antigua is untenable.
Speaking in Parliament today, Minister Nicholas says the rebuilding of the sister isle is being undertaken with little or no help from Barbudans. He says the way of life that many have now come to enjoy will have to stop.
Minister Nicholas related that on a recent visit to Barbuda, he observed that there were facilities there that are available for residents to occupy, but they stand empty.
