Government Downplays Air Traffic Complaints

Thursday 10th May, 2018-Government has described an article appearing in one of the daily newspapers regarding Air Traffic Controllers as a false alarm.

The article captioned “Air Traffic Controllers cry out for relief”, detailed the state of the working conditions at the ATC Tower an air traffic controller lamented the state of the working conditions and equipment at the ATC Tower at the V.C. Bird International Airport.

Cabinet spokesperson Information Minister Melford Nicholas says as work progresses on the construction of a new tower, the Minister responsible for aviation stated that employees are being updated through their union GABATCO.

The new tower is being constructed at a cost of approximately 8 million dollars.

Nicholas explains that a major part of the work will have to do with a piece of equipment that must be placed at the top of the facility.
