GoFundMe set up to cover Baby Jahliyah’s Medical Expenses
The friends of the family of a baby girl who was born less than a month ago with serious health challenges have set up a GoFundMe account, to help raise money to offset the cost of the surgery she urgently needs.
The child, Baby Jahliyah, was born on May 9th and has been diagnosed with esophageal atresia and imperforate anus. Due to her condition, she needs to go to the Bustamante Children’s hospital in Jamaica to have corrective surgery.
It is the hope of the organizers of the campaign that through the GoFundMe, they will raise thirty-six thousand dollars ($36,000.00) to help cover the medical and associated costs. So far, they have collected just under three thousand dollars.
Baby Jahliyah is the granddaughter of the domestic helper at the Venezuelan Ambassador’s residence and officials and staff at the embassy are assisting by helping to publicise the campaign and by asking people to contribute.
