The Government is moving forward with a Vendors Intervention Project designed to upgrade the area where several hardworking fruit and vegetable vendors make their daily living at Woods Pond.
Social and Urban Transformation Minister, Rawdon Turner noted that for years, Woods Pond has been a hub for fresh, local produce, and now it’s time to give it the structure, cleanliness, and support it deserves.
“This upgrade is not just about aesthetics — it’s about supporting the people who feed our nation, preserving livelihoods, and encouraging healthy, local eating.
We’re building with vendors in mind — and with community at heart. Your feedback is welcome as we take this important step together,” Minister Turner stated in a social media post.
Let’s grow something great at Woods Pond, he added.
