Former Senator Caleb Gardiner was shortlisted for the Caribbean Regional Youth
Council’s Caribbean Youth awards as one of over two dozen nominees for
the Overall Caribbean Youth of the Year Award.
Gardiner stated that he is “deeply honoured and incredibly grateful to have been
nominated for the Top Overall Caribbean Youth of the Year Award at the
Caribbean Regional Youth Awards.” He added “This recognition is truly humbling
and it serves as a testament to the collective efforts of countless individuals who
have supported and inspired me on my journey.

While Gardner did not reach the Top 10, amidst the disappointment he has placed
much value on the fact of the nomination, noting that it was a reflection of the
dedication and hard work not only on his part but also on the part of his mentors,
peers, and the community that has been an unwavering source of encouragement.
“The Caribbean region is rich with talent, passion, and resilience, and to be
considered for this award among such an exceptional group of young leaders is a
privilege in itself,” he observed.

Gardiner emphasized that the nomination reinforces his belief in the power of
youth to drive positive change and make a meaningful impact on communities
across the region. “It is a recognition of the potential we possess to contribute to
the development of the Caribbean and beyond. He sees this nomination as an
opportunity to amplify the voices of the youth, to inspire others to pursue their
dreams, and to collaborate with like-minded individuals to address the challenges
our region faces,” he remarked.

In August of this year, Gardner was also recognized as one of the Caribbean's 35
most influential game-changers and visionaries within the region by the Caribbean
Regional Youth Council.  While his journey to this point has been filled with both
triumphs and challenges, he attributes his success to God’s grace, perseverance, a

commitment to learning, and a passion for making a difference that can overcome
obstacles.
