Former education minister granted bail
Former Minister of Education, Science and Technology Michael Browne was granted bail during a court appearance this morning.
Browne, standing before Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel-Edwards, was bailed in the sum of $ 15,000 with a cash component of $ 6,000.
Information Minister Melford Nicholas told reporters during this morning’s post-cabinet press briefing that Prime Minister Gaston Browne informed members of the Cabinet that the All Saint West MP was arrested and charged, following allegations made against him by a woman.
Reports are Mr. Browne avoided curious onlookers by gaining access to the courtroom through an alternate entrance.
More updates will be provided as this development unfolds.
