Education Is Priority For By-Election Candidate
Wednesday 25th April, 2018 –The candidate contesting the upcoming By- Election in Barbuda on the ABLP’s ticket says education will be foremost on his agenda when he is elected.
The By-election is slated for April 30th and is as a result of the resignation of the BPM’s Trevor Walker who secured the Barbuda seat in the general election in March, creating the vacancy on the Council.
Ricardo Nedd speaking this morning on Talking Point said on his agenda will be the provision of resources to boost education on the sister isle.
He pointed out that it was the encouragement he received from his fellow residents and those in authority that convinced him to become involved in politics. The former secondary school teacher is convinced he possesses the qualities required of a council member. That coupled with the association he has formed with the ruling party in Antigua.
A total of three candidates will contest the By-election. They are:
Ricardo Nedd, Antigua/Barbuda Labour party, Calsey Beazer, Barbuda People’s Movement and Primrose Thomas of the Green Party.
