Two educational institutions – the University of the West Indies and the TN
Kirnon Primary School – are included in visits slated for today by the visiting team
from the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB).
The team is in the country as part of the bank’s Country Outreach Mission, where
Governor Timothy Antoine is traveling to each constituent member of the ECCB
to meet with government officials, the opposition, and civil society groups.
During the visit to the TN Kirnon School, which the bank has adopted as part of its
mentorship programme, the team will be incorporating activities to mark the
bank’s 40 th anniversary.
Sources say that along with interactions with staff and students at the institution,
the ECCB officials will plant several trees on the school’s compound, as part of
activities to mark the bank’s 40 th anniversary.
Earlier, the ECCB had announced that during the year of its ‘ruby anniversary,’ it
intends to engage in a number of activities in each member country, as part of the
celebration of this milestone.
On Wednesday, the ECCB Governor and his team will have a busy round of
engagements with visits to Government House for a meeting with the Governor
General’s Deputy, Sir Clare Roberts, as well as meetings with the Cabinet, the
leader of the Opposition, Jamale Pringle and members of the Barbuda Council.
At the meeting with the Cabinet, the Governor and his team, will make a
presentation to the Ministers on the ECCU’s Performance and Prospects under the
theme: Repositioning for Resilience and Sustainability.
Governor Antoine and the team will meet members of the Antigua and Barbuda
