DOE hosts workshop on Entrepreneurship & Resilience Services

Residents of Cashew Hill and neighbouring communities are invited to attend a
workshop that will focus on entrepreneurship and resilience organized by the
Department of the Environment (DOE).
The workshop forms part of the DOE’s Regional Enhancing Direct Access (EDA)
Project, through funding from the Green Climate Fund (GCF). Residents of
Cashew Hill, Briggins, Belmont, Nut Grove, Golden Grove, and other members of
the public are invited to participate in the workshop session titled
“Entrepreneurship and the Role of Services Related to Climate Change,” on
the 24 th of November 2023 beginning at 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the Department of
Environment’s Conference Room, as a part of the DOE’s Arbor Day Activities.
The DOE said the overall aim of this workshop will be to provide introductory
entrepreneurship training for vulnerable groups in services related to the delivery
of climate change information, adaptation, and resilience services.
The workshop sessions will be held at 30-minute intervals with a focus on the
following areas:
Session I: Revolving Loans
Session II: Environmental Social Safeguards & Gender Considerations
Session III: Construction Project Management
Session IV: Sustainable Procurement Policies
Session V: Monitoring & Evaluating in Business
Session VI: Environmental Impact Assessments
Session VII: Climate Change Adaptation and Resiliency
The Department of Environment’s (DOE) grants and loan recipients, women, and
persons with disabilities are urged to attend this educational session which seeks to
improve the knowledge and adaptive capacity of residents and improve the
management of community projects.
