Daren Dunnah Granted Bail on Additional Drug Charges

Tuesday 25th September, 2018-The LIAT employee who is facing a second set of drug related charges was granted bail in the St. John’s Magistrates’ Court today.

Daren Leslie Dunnah of Cassada Gardens # 4, was charged for possession of eight and a half pounds of cannabis, importation of cannabis, possession of cannabis with intent to transfer, being concerned to supply cannabis and making a false declaration to customs.

The latest charges stemmed from offences that were committed at V.C Bird International Airport on 1st June, 2018.

In court today, Dunnah was granted bail in the sum of $ 70,000, with a cash component of $ 30,000 and two sureties.

His bail conditions include reporting to Police Headquarters every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Dunnah has also been cautioned by Chief Magistrate Joanne Walsh not to make contact with potential witnesses.

Committal proceedings have been set for 9th January, 2019.

The cannabis seized in June is valued at more than EC $ 30,000.

Earlier this month, Dunnah was charged with possession of cannabis, possession with intent to transfer the class B drug, importation and being concerned in the supply of drugs. He was also charged with making a false declaration to Customs. Those charges were in relation to the discovery of cannabis in a microwave at Deep Water Harbour.

In that case, he was granted bail in the sum of $10,000, with a cash component of $ 5,000.

For that matter, he returns to court on 15th November.
