Cuban Solidarity group concludes meeting in St. John’s

A Cuban group established to build relations with the people of different countries,
has just concluded a visit to Antigua and Barbuda.
The two-man delegation is from the Cuban Institute for Friendship with the People
(ICAP – a Spanish acronym). They visited the country as part of its mandate to
foster closer ties, with ordinary people in different countries around the world.
ICAP’s officers are Tamara Armenteros, responsible for the Caribbean countries
and the institute’s head of the Latin American and Caribbean Division, Lilia Maria
Zamora.
The two ICAP Officers visited Antigua from April 3 rd to 5 th , held meetings with
members of the Cuba Solidarity Group, National Youth Council, and other
Antiguans and Barbudans who are supportive of the Cuban Revolution. Also
present were representatives of the Cuban Residence Association of Antigua and
Barbuda and the Cuban Ambassador to Antigua and Barbuda.
Dr. James Knight was given a Medal of Honour for the outstanding support and
advocacy by the Antigua Solidarity Group.
