Thursday 3rd January, 2018-The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment will host a number of public consultations this month on the Litter Control and Prevention Bill 2018.
The Bill addresses a number of issues including the Disposal of Litter in a Public Place, Disposal of Litter from Motor Vehicle or Trailer, Illegal Dumping, Disposal of Waste from Construction Sites, Storage and Disposal of Commercial Waste by Business Owners and Punishment of Offence.
The first consultation will take place on Monday 14th January at the Multi-purpose Cultural and Exhibition Centre at 5:30 pm. The second will be at the Liberta Primary School on Monday 21st January while Wednesday 23rd January will be held at the Cedar Grove Primary School.
Minister of Health, Wellness and the Environment, the Honourable Molwyn Joseph, Permanent Secretary within the Ministry, Joan Carrott, Environment Management Coordinator, Indira James-Henry as well as a member of the Ministry of Legal Affairs will be the featured speakers.
A number of senior technicians from the Central Board of Health and the National Solid Waste Management Authority will also be in attendance to answer any questions people may have.
