Thursday 10th May, 2018-There is reaction to Barbudan MP Trevor Walker’s statement that Council workers will be cut from the payroll if they do not return to the sister isle to assist in the re-building process.

The warning was issued on Wednesday when the re-constituted Barbuda Council held its first meeting.

Walker who now serves on the Barbuda Council as deputy chairman said they will not continue to pay people who do not return to assist citing the financial challenges they are experiencing.

However, in response, Government’s Chief of Staff, Ambassador Lionel ‘Max’ Hurst says they fear  the BPM controlled Council may have set out to target those people who gained employment during the time the ABLP served as majority on the Council.
