Chips Ahoy Recall in the US

Tuesday 16th April, 2019-There is a recall of Chips Ahoy in the United States that may affect consumers in Antigua and Barbuda.

According to the Miami Herald, four lots of Chewy Chips Ahoy! Cookies in 13-ounce packs have been recalled across the United States because something in the cookie is causing people to become ill.

Nabisco’s parent company Mondelez says an unexpected solidified ingredient in the cookies has been identified, though they did not name it.

The recall covers Chewy Chips Ahoy! Cookies with UPC No. 0 44000 03223 4 and best by dates of 07SEP2019, 08SEP2019, 14SEP2019 and 15SEP2019. That date can be found on the top left side of the package by the lift tab.

Mondelēz suffered a major recall in July 2018 that affected select Ritz Cracker Sandwiches and Ritz Bits products. The snack-maker voluntarily recalled certain Ritz Cracker Sandwiches and Ritz Bits for containing salmonella; a bacteria that causes food poisoning.
