Wednesday 27th February, 2019-Central Board of Health officials moved in on a repairman today after he failed to comply with a clean-up order.

Orlando Pena of Kentish Road is into the business of repairing stoves, refrigerators and washing machines.

Since late last year, he was written to about the need to clean up the space where he plies his trade. But he ignored the warnings and today the CBH arrived on site to clean up the area.

Deputy Chief Health Inspector Daryl Spencer says they had no choice but to take action and it will be at the expense of the businessman.

Mr. Spencer has issued a warning to business owners that the onus is on them to ensure the surroundings in which they operate be kept in proper condition.

As for Mr. Pena, he was displeased at CBH’s presence. He will have to dig deep into his pockets to pay for that clean up.
