The four members of the Burning Flames band and one of the country’s long-serving ambassadors and historian, Lionel Max Hurst, top the list of awardees in the 2025 Antigua and Barbuda National Awards announced last evening during the Independence Ceremonial Parade.

The Burning Flames is a family band that took Antigua and Barbuda music across the globe with their unique beat and pulsating rhythm. Through their music, they have inspired generations of musicians, energized Carnival celebrations, and carried the vibrancy, creativity, and resilience of Antigua and Barbuda to audiences across the Caribbean, North America, Europe, and beyond,” the Citation reads.
