The Barbuda People’s Movement’s grasp on the control of the levels of power on the island remains firmly intact following Wednesday’s Council Elections where its candidates swept all five seats that were contested.

With just over seven hundred of the more than thirteen hundred eligible voters participating in the elections, the BPM candidates won by convincing margins.

The results released overnight by the Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission are as follows;

During the campaign, the BPM made the land issue its central campaign theme which has been a winning formula for the party in previous elections.
