Back to back centenarians celebrations

Presently, there are twenty-four Antiguan and Barbudan centenarians living in Antigua and abroad, and the Community Development Division has spared no effort in continuing to celebrate them.

On Friday, the division held a virtual birthday celebration for centenarian, Mrs. Margaret Myrtle Peters of Whenner Road as she celebrated her one hundred and third birthday. The Community Development and Citizens Engagement Division, in collaboration with His Excellency Sir Rodney Williams, Governor General of Antigua and Barbuda, conducted the first ever virtual Centenarian Birthday Celebration of Mrs. Margaret Myrtle Peters.

According to the Community Development Division, “It is with joy that the Director (Ag.) of the Community Development and Citizens Engagement Division and staff join in celebrating the one hundred and first birthday of one of our beloved centenarians, Mrs. Celestine Derrick of Liberta, who now resides in St. Thomas. At the age of one hundred, Mrs. Derrick was still doing her vending at the market in St. Thomas. However, due to COVID-19, she doesn’t vend anymore. Mrs. Derick is still very collective. Cheers to many many more birthdays. God’s richest blessings!”
