Attorney General Lambastes LIAT
Tuesday 6th February, 2018 – The Attorney General and M.P for St. John’s City South has lashed out at LIAT’s management over its operating schedule, which he believes is seriously inconveniencing travelers.
The Hon. Steadroy ‘Cutie’ Benjamin who returned to Antigua on Monday via Barbados after attending the Council of Legal Education meeting of the Executive Committee in Jamaica said from his observation while in transit at Grantley Adams International Airport, he is convinced those in LIAT are bent on shifting the airline’s operations.
Minister Benjamin who is known for his calm demeanor lambasted the airline’s management, accusing them of conspiring to re-locate the airline’s base from Antigua to Bridgetown, Barbados. He has warned his government not to allow such an injustice to take place.
Antigua and Barbuda is one of the major shareholder governments in LIAT.
Many have criticized the disruptions the airline has caused to their plans almost on a daily basis.
At least one OECS territory has been advocating for the airline to move its operations to the Barbados hub.
