The Antigua Trades and Labour Union is offering scholarships for a series of professional development courses that are currently being offered by the University of the West Indies Global Campus in Antigua and Barbuda.
AT&LU President, Bernard DeNully said the scholarship programme started in January when two scholarships were offered, however, for the upcoming semester, the union will offer four scholarships with the intention to offer another eight in September.
“What we are recognizing is that many of our members do not possess the required certification that are often needed for advancement in many work places. We are of the view that if we assist our members to upskill themselves then they will be in a better position to be considered whenever opportunities for promotion arise,” he stated.
The courses include; Advanced Supervisory Management, Customer Service Management, Computer Literacy, Effective Management and Leadership, Essential Business Information System, Effective Business Communications, Events Management, and Financial Planning for Small Businesses.
Applications for the scholarships are now being accepted and the four winners will be drawn during a LIVE television event next Wednesday.
