The Antigua Public Utilities Authority(APUA) hosted the graduation ceremony for Cohort 4 of the Leadership and Development Programme.
The eight-week initiative is a cornerstone of APUA’s succession planning strategy, designed to equip emerging leaders with the skills, knowledge, and confidence required to take on greater leadership responsibilities within the organisation.
During the programme, participants engaged in professional development workshops covering areas such as effective leadership; thinking like a leader; HR for non-HR professionals with performance management, planning, and budgeting; health and safety on the jobsite; resource management including supplies and procurement; understanding labour relations; and the fundamentals of project management.
In addition to this core curriculum, they also benefited from supplementary training in team building, excellence in customer service, effective communication to resolve and manage conflict, introduction to computers and the Windows environment and report writing.
