An anticipated two thousand persons received medical services at a free health clinic organized jointly by the Ministry of Health, United Health Incorporated, and the Seventh-day Adventist South Leeward Conference and held at the Multi-Purpose Cultural Centre.
Sources close to the organisers say the clinic provided services to between 450 and 500 persons on each of the four days that the clinic operated.
The clinic opened on Sunday which was set aside for seniors and children twelve years and under with the other three days opened to anyone. Large numbers of persons have turned out seeking medical assistance in the areas of general health, eye-care and dentistry.
The turnout has been such that persons are often turned away after the day’s quota had been met.
