It’s that time again! As the summer draws to a close, Antigua Yacht Club (AYC), among the regular local racing and sailing enthusiasts, is planning for the season. AYC & Budget Marine Announce the Jol Byerley Hightide Series 2025 – Bigger fleet, thrilling new courses, and a lively social calendar.

The Antigua Yacht Club (AYC) is delighted to confirm that the AYC / Budget Marine Jol Byerley Hightide Series is shaping up to be one of the most exciting racing events of the season. With expressions of interest continuing to roll in, anticipation is high for a strong fleet and spectacular competition on Antigua’s waters.

AYC is proud to welcome long-term sponsor Budget Marine yet again as the headline sponsor for the 2025 edition, bringing fresh energy and support to this much-loved annual series.

This year, sailors can look forward to a completely new programme format:

  • Warm-Up Point Series: Saturday, 13 December & Wednesday, 17 December — for those eager for extra racing in the lead-up.
  • Main Event: An open 7-race series across the weekend of 20–21 December, expected to draw not only Jolly Harbour boats but also visiting competitors. This will also count towards season points for the proposed West Coast Cup.

The race committee is introducing new, more exciting courses and a dedicated new start boat with Race Officer to ensure fair starts at the harbour mouth. Large, high-visibility Budget Marine race marks will guide competitors around the course. While protests are discouraged, a competent protest jury will be in place if needed.

Off the water, the social programme promises to be just as vibrant. Skippers’ briefings will see the Commodore’s Bar open for sailors and supporters, while Saturday night (20 December) will feature a lively old-fashioned knees-up party at the AYC — a perfect way to celebrate the racing spirit.

AYC race organisers are buzzing with enthusiasm. “It’s going to be a great fleet and some incredible racing. We can’t wait to see everyone out on the water,” said an AYC spokesperson.

Mark your calendars, polish your hulls, and get ready — the Jol Byerley Hightide Series 2025 is set to be one for the books.
