Antigua Experiences Economic Growth
Friday 28th September, 2018-Government has reported that the Antigua and Barbuda economy experienced a 5.5% growth rate for the period January to July 2018 period. These preliminary figures are expected to be examined by the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank and will be published by year’s end.
According to Government’s Chief of Staff, Ambassador Lionel ‘Max’ Hurst, several factors contributed to the growth.
Government says that from January to July 2018, total Revenue and Grants stood at $477.76 million dollars. $134 million dollars went to paying debt; $108 million went to paying debt on the RGSM.
Salaries and Wages in the seven month period $213 million dollars or about $31 million dollars monthly.
