Antigua and Barbuda and China sign several bilateral agreements

The Antigua and Barbuda delegation which is on an official visit to successful visit
to the People’s Republic of China with meetings between the Chinese leader,
President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Gaston Browne and party as well as the
signing of several agreements.
At Wednesday’s meeting between the two leaders and their delegations held in
Beijing, PM Browne told President Xi that his global leadership has been an
inspiration to all.
“These include the Belt and Road Initiative, the Global Development Initiative as
well as the Civilization and Security Initiative. Your philosophy to ensure that
there is shared global prosperity and peace is one that resonates global and I
believe that you have demonstrated unparallel leadership and we are hoping that
others, especially those in the developed nations, will follow your lead and that of
the People’s Republic of China in ensuring that we can have a more harmonious
planet, ensuring that there is global equity in development,” he remarked.

Agreements were signed with several senior Chinese officials, one dealing with
matters of health, with Health and Environment Minister, Sir Molwyn Joseph and
another dealing with the strengthening of relations signed by Foreign Minister E.P
Chet Greene.
Both Antigua and Barbuda and the PRC have recommitted themselves to continue
the excellent relationship well into the future.
During the trip, PM Browne inspected a Chinese Guard of Honour and he has also
held meetings with Antigu and Barbuda students studying in China.
