Antigua and Barbuda’s push to establish itself as a leading destination for meetings and conferences, is already showing positive results.
World Travel Awards has named Antigua and Barbuda as the Caribbean’s Leading Meeting and Conference Destination, 2025. The country won the award ahead of three other Caribbean destinations, Jamaica, Puerto Rico and the Bahamas.
“We are honoured that Antigua and Barbuda has been awarded the Caribbean’s Leading Meetings & Conference Destination 2025!
“This prestigious recognition is a testament to our country’s growing and expanding tourism product, as well as the world-class level of service, amenities, and accessibility we offer to host international conferences and meetings,” Tourism Minister Charles Max Fernandez stated.
He noted that the successful hosting of the UN SIDS Conference in 2024, Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) Marketplace in 2025, and the Organisation of American States 55th General Assembly in June all contributed to the country’s growing reputation in the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) segment of the tourism industry.
“Additionally, the planned hosting of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in 2026, further proves the outstanding work of the Government, our partners, and all stakeholders in positioning Antigua and Barbuda as a premier hub for global gatherings.
“This award highlights the islands’ exceptional hospitality, stunning venues, and vibrant culture, making us an ideal choice for international events. We look forward to continuing to welcome global delegates to our beautiful twin-island nation,” Minister Fernandez declared.
