Another COVID-19 related death recorded
Antigua and Barbuda has recorded another CPVID-19-related death, that of a sixty-nine-year-old male who passed away on Thursday 25th February at the Mount St John’s Medical Centre (MSJMC).
“We can confirm that sadly, a male patient, age sixty-nine, who had underlying medical conditions, has passed away at Mount St John’s Medical Centre on Thursday February 25, 2021. He had tested positive for COVID-19,” Dr. Albert Duncan, MSJMC Medical Director said.
It is the fifteenth death to have been recorded in the country since the first reported case in March of last year.
“Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patient’s family and loved ones at this difficult time. What comes next for us is for every one of us to determine, through our decisions and actions. Let’s bring COVID-19 down, together. I’m also encouraging everyone to take the vaccine when one becomes available to you,” the Medical Director stated.
MSJMC continues to stress the important safety measures that have been scientifically-proven to reduce the spread of COVID-19, includes wearing a mask, practising social distancing, and avoiding large gatherings.
