Still credited with a sharp memory despite her age, she diligently watches what she
eats.
She is Almeda King who was born July 27, 1923, in the village of Urlings.
Growing up with 8 other siblings, she was the first. Five of her siblings are
deceased and three alive. She mothered two children; a son and a daughter, sadly
her son died.
Living in McKinnons with her daughter, Mrs. Jean King-David, she is the
grandmother of 4 grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Also, she is the
sister of the late Jerome Josiah known as ‘Sympo,’ who was one of Antigua’s top
calypsonians.
Almeda loves to sing and has a lovely singing voice but is not a heavy eater and
does not have a favourite meal. Surprisingly, she has never had a hot dog or
hamburger in her life.
