Accused Murderer Remanded to Prison
Friday 1st March, 2019-Kasroy Simon, the suspended police officer charged with murder appeared in the All Saints Magistrate’s Court today.
Simon was charged last evening with the death of Jamaican Nicoma McFarlane, a woman who in the initial stages of the investigation into her death, was believed to have taken her own life.
However, a postmortem examination revealed the woman died as a result of strangulation.
McFarlane was discovered by her mother in their Freemans Village home on 7th February, 2019. Her wrist was allegedly slit and a bottle of bleach was found beside her.
Appearing in court today, Simon was not required to plea, since the charge against him is indictable. He will have to apply to the High Court for bail if he so desires.
Committal proceedings are set for June 5th, 2019.
Kasroy Simon has reportedly been interdicted by the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda for almost three years.
