Tuesday 2nd October, 2018 –Antigua Commercial Bank has a new General Manager at its helm.
Joanna Charles was appointed to the position effective 1st October, 2018 the bank announced.
ACB says Joanna Charles is an accomplished career banker, who brings over 28 years of regional banking industry experience to ACB. In her most recent role, Charles held the position of Deputy Managing Director, Bank of Saint Lucia and previously as the General Manager Bank of Antigua, during a critical period in which that institution successfully transitioned to Eastern Caribbean Amalgamated Bank.
Speaking of her appointment to the position, Joanna Charles noted that “banking is a lot more challenging in this ever evolving industry and it is critical for banks to be cognizant of this reality and develop strategies to manage those changes and remain sustainable at the same time.”
Charles says she welcomes the opportunity to serve the customers and staff of ACB and embraces the new challenge with optimism.
The new general manager assumes the position, following the departure of Jamaican Barbara Hume.
