The Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force has announced that its new recruits are to begin intense training in the southern areas of Antigua beginning on Wednesday and it wants members of the public not to interfere with this training.

In a social media post, the ABDF said it is advising the general public that as part of its basic recruit training course, it will be conducting a mid-term field training exercise, Exercise Green Sprout, from April 2 to 5 in the Christian Valley and Cades Bay in the south.

“During this period, members of the public are advised not to approach or interact with recruits participating in the exercise. This training is a critical component of their military development, and maintaining its integrity is essential,” the statement noted.

The ABDF says it appreciates the cooperation and understanding of the public as it continues to train and prepare its personnel.
