A&B, PRC hold bilateral talks in the Bahamas

Prime Minister Gaston Browne participated in several engagements on the margins of the 44th CARICOM Heads of Government Meeting in The Bahamas. 

Late on Wednesday, PM Browne held bilateral discussions with a delegation from the People’s Republic of China (PRC) on a range of issues of mutual interest.

During the discussions, the PM underscored the tremendous assistance granted by Antigua and Barbuda has received from the PRC.

Director General Cai Wei, led the delegation from the PRC’s Department of Latin America and Caribbean Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Charge in the talks with Antigua and Barbuda’s leader.

Director General Wei welcomed Antigua and Barbuda’s unwavering support and the prime minister’s offer for Antigua and Barbuda to become a constructive interlocutor in helping to resolve challenging issues whether regionally or globally. 

Browne indicated that the country is ready to move its partnership with the PRC to the next level in order to advance Antigua and Barbuda’s development agenda.

He also informed the Chinese delegation that he intended to accept an earlier invitation to visit the People’s Republic of China later this year.
