Antigua and Barbuda’s Dr. Derek Marshall has been hounored as the first regional examiner to participate in the National Trinidad and Tobago Dental Board Examinations, held on November 27 and 28, 2025.
The Board’s examination structure includes both a didactic section and a clinical component, requiring candidates to demonstrate proficiency and successfully pass each section. This rigorous evaluation process ensures that successful candidates meet the basic standards of care expected of dental professionals worldwide.
Dr. Marshall, along with a select group of esteemed Trinidadian dentists trained across various regions, to include the UK, the US, and the University of the West Indies, conducted clinical evaluations.
On Day 1, the focus was on endodontics (root canal procedures) and fixed prosthodontics (crowns and bridges), whilst Day 2 centered on restorative dentistry (fillings) and periodontics (deep scaling and root planning).
