Police are investigating an incident in which a police officer and another man were injured during an altercation on Lower All Saints Road.

Reports indicate that around 9:35 p.m. on Tuesday, a member of the Police Force was in the vicinity of Sammy’s Supermarket when he observed two men involved in a fight. The officer intervened, and during the process, one of the men reportedly used a broken glass bottle to stab him on the right side of his face.

In defence to the attack, the officer discharged his service firearm and shot his attacker. Both men were subsequently transported by ambulance to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, where they were treated for injuries that were later deemed non-life-threatening.

The matter remains under active investigation by the Criminal Investigations Department. Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
