Three men – Judeah Francis of Potters, Jaquan Davis of Skerritt’s Pasture and Devonne Burton of Paynters – have been committed to stand trial at the January sitting of the Assize Court on a range of firearms and ammunition charges.
The men appeared before a magistrate on charges stemming from an incident in June last year when they were found in possession of firearms and ammunition. The men also faced a charge of attempting to commit a crime with the use of the firearms.
The police are alleging that the trio were found with 14 9mm rounds of ammunition as well as one black 9 mm Browning pistol. According to the police, the men also had in their possession of a second firearm – a black desert eagle 41/44 Magnum pistol.
Additionally, Francis has been charged with reckless driving of a motor vehicle on the public highway at a speed that was dangerous to the public when taking into account, the nature and condition of the road as well as the time of the day and the amount of traffic that was expected on the road.
The case has been submitted for trial at the January Assizes. There are 14 exhibits and seven witnesses.
