Residents of the Fiennes Institute were beneficiaries of gift packages as the Rotary Club of Antigua reaffirmed its enduring commitment to service and compassion.
For the fourth year in a row, the Rotary Club hosted an event last Thursday, dubbed Volunteer Day which was held as part of the Club’s 53rd anniversary celebrations under the theme “53 Years of Service: Continuing the Legacy.”
As part of the day’s activities, the Club presented pillows, pillowcases, and personal sanitary items to the residents of the Fiennes Institute. These items were not only symbolic of comfort and care, but they were also specifically requested by the Institute to address its immediate needs. The pillowcases were carefully crafted through the Rotary Sewing Project, showcasing the Club’s commitment to sustainable, hands-on service.
The Rotary Club of Antigua also extended heartfelt appreciation to the sponsors who made the donations possible, ensuring that the elderly residents received essential support and comfort.
Volunteers Day is one of several activities planned during the Club’s anniversary week of celebrations, which runs from September 4 to 10, 2025. The week culminates on Wednesday, September 10, marking the Rotary Club of Antigua’s official 53rd anniversary of service to the nation.
For over five decades, the Rotary Club of Antigua has upheld Rotary International’s motto of “Service Above Self,” continuing its legacy of empowering communities and uplifting lives across Antigua and Barbuda.
