Farmers in Antigua and Barbuda are in line to receive specialized training in new irrigation techniques as the People’s Republic of China strengthens its technical assistance to agriculture.
Chief Extension Officer, Owolabi Elabanjo said the assistance is coming through the China Aid Programme which is cooperating with the embassy of the People’s Republic of China, Yuan Long Ping High Tech Agriculture Co Ltd and the Ministry of Agriculture and the Blue Economy to undertake the three-week course.
According to Elabanjo the focus of the training is on Agricultural Water Saving Irrigation for Antigua and Barbuda. It will run from October 16 to November 5, at the Villa Poly Clinic.
Farmers who wish to participate are urged to get in touch with the Agricultural Extension Division for registration.
