The Acting Commissioner of Police, Everton Jeffers and members of the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda continue to express condolences to the family of Kahleel Simon of Bolans, who lost his life during what the police have described as ‘unfortunate incident’ involving a member of the Police Force.
Acting Commissioner Jeffers said, “I cannot begin to imagine the pain or grief that the family is going through at this time, and I pray that God will continue to grant them His peace and comfort during this time of loss”.
Investigations into the matter are continuing and will be forwarded to the Coroner for a Coroner’s Inquest.
On Monday, a senior police officer met with Khaleel’s family to express condolences, as well as to share certain pertinent information regarding the process of the investigation.
Acting Commissioner Jeffers is appealing to the public to remain calm and patient, and to allow the investigative process to take its due course.
The Police Administration has taken certain administrative measures concerning the police officer involved in the incident, pending the outcome of the inquiry.
The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda remains committed to transparency and accountability and assures the public that due process will be followed in this matter.
